Municipal Sector – City of Timmins
Cindy Welsh serves as the Manager of Planning with the City of Timmins. She has held progressive leadership and management roles in her 30 plus years of experience, in public service, at both the municipal and provincial levels. Cindy’s experience includes municipal and policy planning, health planning and economic development. She also currently volunteers as the Ontario representative on the Accreditation Program Committee of the Professional Standards Board for the Planning Profession in Canada
Cindy’s previous volunteer positions include work with non-profit organizations including Director on the Canadian Institute of Planners Board, Chair/Vice-chair of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute Northern District Leadership Team, the Timmins Non-profit Housing Corporation and the Ontario Public Health Association Built Environment Working Group.
Cindy holds a Master of Public Health Degree (Lakehead University), Bachelor of Environmental Studies – Honours Urban and Regional Planning – Co-operative Program Degree (University of Waterloo) and a Bachelor of Arts – Geography Degree (Carleton University).
Cindy is a member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and has been a Registered Professional Planner since 1997, in addition to being a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners.
