Mark Joron

Economic Sector – Forestry

Mark is a Sault College Forest Technologist graduate. He worked with the Science and Technology Unit, then as a District Area Technician and Assistant Park Superintendent at Kettle Lakes Provincial Park. Mark had a two year stint at Echo Bay Mines doing everything from compliance, sediment control, and issue management, to sampling and public consultation. With gold not as shiny as it had been, Mark went back to his passion and the forests. Mark was with Millson Forestry Service performing forest operations for almost 20 years. Now he is at Interfor, better known as the McChesney mill, which has operated in Timmins for over 100 years. Mark is also involved with a number of local groups including the Timmins Naturalists, Local Citizens Committee and the Wintergreen Fund for Conservation.
