What’s happening with the storm water drains in Timmins? Yellow Fish Road campaign

The Mattagami Region Conservation Authority teamed up with several community partners including the City of Timmins, Friends of the Porcupine River Watershed, members of the Mattagami Region Source Protection Committee and the Wintergreen Fund for Conservation to launch a new water education program to promote responsible storm water management through Trout Unlimited Canada’s Yellow Fish Road initiative.

Grade 5 students from W.E. Miller Public School took to the streets yesterday afternoon to paint yellow fish symbols in front of storm water grates and distributed fish-shaped door hangers to remind residents that “only rain should go down the drains”.
