MRSPC Poster Contest

The Mattagami Region Source Protection Committee proudly acknowledged the creative efforts of three local students from St. Paul Catholic School who were the winners of the first annual Drinking Water Source Protection Poster Contest.

The purpose of the contest was to encourage students to design a poster to illustrate the importance of Clean Water in the City of Timmins. The contest was open to all 4th, 5th & 6th grade students in the City of Timmins.

“It is encouraging to see our youth participate in a program like this. Water protection is something that we all need to take seriously, starting with the youth in our community,” said George Hughes, Source Protection Committee Chairman.

All contestants were judged on the water protection/conservation messages, creativity and visual effectiveness of their posters. Listed below are the 2009 Poster Contest Winners and by clicking on their names you can see the entries.
